Grace Warrior‘s family always includes her in their adventures, so we weren’t surprised to see them take her along for their latest ride — literally. The Irwin family recently took a boat out to sea so they could release a turtle back into its native waters.
“Lulu the sea turtle has been @australiazoo Wildlife Hospital for several months after she was hit by a boat,” matriarch Terri Irwin captioned a touching Instagram post. “Such an exciting day to be releasing her back to the wild now that she has healed.”
The conservationist then reminded followers to use propeller guards to better protect wildlife like Lulu. In the photo that Terri — Grace’s “Bunny” — shared on Instagram, she poses with her kids Robert and Bindi, her son-in-law Chandler Powell, and her granddaughter Grace. The 4-year-old looks too cute in floral pants, what looks like an Australia Zoo shirt, and a life jacket. She reaches out to pet Lulu, who her dad carries lovingly.
Bindi quickly commented on her mom’s post saying, “Such an incredible day. I’m so grateful that Grace gets to be part of these empowering moments. ❤️”
And it really is so special that the little girl (who celebrated her 4th birthday with an epic cake just last week!) gets to join her family when they return an animal to its rightful home. How cool is it that she played a role in helping Lulu reach this major milestone after having such a long recovery?
Followers were so happy for the sea turtle:
“Well that’s a good news story, in a world of terrible things happening all the time. Lovely to see her going back to the sea. You’re amazing people 🙌❤️,” one person said.
“Awwww love this be free precious Lulu enjoy the ocean life again and be safe🐢😍❤️👏👏👏👏,” another added.
And it’s not just sea turtles who Grace Irwin spends her time with. Last week, we saw that she is a horse girl, earlier this month we saw her nose-to-nose with her “best bud” Stella the pug, and earlier this year, she couldn’t stop cuddling with kangaroos!
“A little collection of #kangaroo moments. 💛 These afternoons are magical,” Bindi captioned a collection of photos of her daughter and the iconic Australian animals. It showed that saying goodbye to Lulu can’t possibly be the only empowering experience for Grace Warrior. She also feels confident enough to snuggle up with a kangaroo, and they feel comfortable enough with her to let it happen!
